This is an excellent beginner book for aspiring flutists. It gives clear, easy to follow instructions and the illustrations are first rate. For anyone who is interested in learning to play the flute or who is teaching a new person or who feels this book reinforces what they know well, this book is for you. It is for anyone who loves the flute and has an interest in maintaining or brushing up on their skills.
This was my first flute book as an adult beginner. It actually has helped me learn the notes on the flute. I still study it every day.
The book is safe knowledge coz at least you can actually play sheet music off this knowledge. But my slight qualm would be that " trilling" by the use of the "trill" keys & function of the "gizmo key" & the like Is not mentioned at all ! Hence my 3.5 rating.
I have this in paperback and the kindle version. It makes it easy to find fingerings and to understand. This authors goal seems to sincerely add value to the flute world by bringing an easy to understand chart for both beginners and novices.
I like it I haven't been able to study it yet I wish it wasn't on my cell phone I would rather have the paper in my hand
