Having worked with Hospice here in MT for 7 years and then seeing the sides presented as Ms. Grassman, has , really opens ones eyes and mind to other avenues of end of life issues. Especially as it relates to Veterans.I wholly recommend both books for those that wish to open there tx. plans of attack.

An authoritative yet humble work, with excellent insights. I would highly recommend it.

Written as a way for staff dealing with the death of hospice patients to assist in there dying healed. It is a pathway for the caregivers to deal with their own needs for forgiveness and healing. Explains the need for all of us to live the life of being emotionally ready for each other.

I met the author at a grief counseling symposium. The book is just as good as she was at the conference. The book arrived in excellent condition and timely fashion.

High intensity, roller coaster ride of pure adrenaline thrills, and just enough love and hate to make this read like a mini tv series! Real life like characters that just leap from the pages and make you fall deeply in love with them. This book grabbed me from the very first sentence and did let me go until the end! As a matter of fact, when the author emailed me wanting to know how I liked the book, I haven't emailed her back because I was still reading and couldn't stop until I finished! It was that good! Can't wait for the next installment in this series! Lucy has become my go to Heroine! A great and must read! Kudos, Mrs. Lyons!❤️❤️❤️

I wanted to really love this book because I feel there aren't enough strong female characters in current literature. However, the only thing I can say is I liked it, most of the time. There were too many characters in my opinion and it was tough to keep track of who was who and what their function was. At times I thought Lucy was too rogue in her job and I didn't believe she'd be allowed to stay on her job without some type of disciplinary action if not outright firing. Also her husband Nick was so long-suffering and tolerant of Lucy choosing work over family so many times.

Fabulous! This is the first book that I have read by CJ Lyons & it wo'nt be my last! This book grabbed my attention from start to finish. I read the book in less than a day & it would have been quicker but life & work got in the way!The main character, Lucy Guardino, struggles to balance her job as an FBI agent with the role of mother and wife. An action packed thriller that leaves you wanting more. Can't wait to get my hands on another CJ Lyons book, in fact I want to Amazon & purchased another before writing this review!

I read the 6 book series of Lucy Guardino F.B.I. by CJ Lyons. I loved every one! Every crime was different with lots of twists and turns. Each book was action packed. It isn't necessary to read the books in order but I think it was more enjoyable that way. You will understand Lucy's journey through her years in the F.B.I. and her fight to keep her family safe without any gaps.

Crime Novel. Having found the author's Hart and Drake series books so-so, I was pleased that this book was essentially free of the sappy confused romantic stuff so prevalent in the Hart and Drake series.In particular, I found the pace of action in the first half of the book to be quite slow (or maybe almost non-existent, I almost gave up). It was a bit puzzling, because the writing and dialog seemed smooth and capable -- but the narrative just never progressed anywhere. Happily, the pace of action and narrative development picked up considerably in the last half of the book.I'm no fiction author, and I have to respect all authors for being able to create all the dialogue, settings, and plot, etc that are required to produce even so-so stories. So I'm always surprised that the line between a so-so book and a good one is so thin, and so instantly noticeable by readers.I purchased this book as a 99 cent Kindle daily deal, and it filled its purpose for me (easy escapist reading). I would recommend it to others for the same purpse.

Great fun - it plodded occasionally but the characters kept up the tension when the author didn't. (I know - the author writes the characters but that's what it feels like.) Interesting character interactions, and not just for window dressing, they all led somewhere. Well-crafted, a pleasant discovery. Looking forward to crossing paths with more work from this author

This was a great book! I originally bought it before a flight as it’s a wonderful travel book. I needed a quick read with lots of excitement. The chapters are brief so there’s lots of stopping room, and the storyline is incredibly entertaining. Will be purchasing another book by the author immediately after writing this!

I've been eating at Doug and Ryan's restaurants for a very long time and have had occasion to drink a glass of wine and consider what I love about them (the authors and their restaurants.) The food is perfect. The best fried chicken, yes, superlative steak frites, yes... but also the best green salad that I have ever had (a salad that makes you moan!) the best chicken fried pork chop, a chickpea socca that defies my understanding, and the list goes on. The food is certainly very good, but also very nourishing. The whole restaurant is nourishing. The front of the house staff are the very kindest and caring people you will ever meet. Since moving from Brooklyn I have missed these restaurants dearly. But I digress.The thing is this: when I took delivery of this book and removed it from the envelope I felt all of those good feelings. The heft, the size, the typography are a wonder. I purchased this book because my female Yorkshire Terrier has had skin allergies since she was 6 mothns old.I wanted to read up on the different types of allergents and understand more about the medications available to treat skin disorders, as well as side affects from medications. I am not a doctor, am just a concerned pet owner. I have spent thousands of dollars on Vet bills and medications and no one seems to be able to identify the root cause of her problem. This book has allot of technical details, however, I think its more of a medical training manual. It was somewhat helpful, but I think the contents are more for a DVM doctor in a Vet practice. The book is expensive, and Amazon has the best price for it. I'm glad I made the purchase. Its a good reference tool for future.

This "Cocktail Table" sized picture book is really a photographic history of commercial aviation using the evolution of the flight attendent as the vehicle for recounting this history. For any person who has spent lots of time flying over the years (that would be me!), it is really fun to see how and from what starting points the current civil aviation experience has been derived. The days of prime rib, escargot and vintage wines have devolved into a lousy bag of stale peanuts, but being able to see in thie book examples of "those were the days, my friends, those were the days..." is fun. For people who travel this book is clearly enjoyable. Also for those of us who like vintage planess there are lots of good pictures. All in all I am very satisfied with thie book.

Great book. I recommend it if you like aviation history. It tellsthe story of stewards and stewardesses alright, AND it tells thehistory of commerical aviation from the very start.........A DEFINITEBUY IT book.

What a wonderful collection of pictures, history, and personal anecdotes! Kudos for a job well done. I would recommend it to anyone interested in the airlines and the girls who made people want to fly on them.

I married a stewardess and can attest to the fact that she found very little in this volume that wasn't spot on. Quite a book, well written and authentic in every way.

The pictures of the hostess are very nice.But I really dislike the authors commentary way too cheap.

I was a stewardess for Northwest Airlines in the 1950s and wrote the book "Fujiyama Trays & Oshibori Towels. Recalling a time when passenger flight was an adventure and the Boeing Stratocruiser ruled the Skies," also available on Amazon.

Photographs and text are outstanding, interesting, engaging and revealing of our history of service in the air. I gave the book as a gift to flight attendant friends but not before several well-traveled, art-appreciator friends admired it first! That I was able to have Mr. McAllister sign it put the icing on the cake!

The content is amazing and a must for a Kubrick fan.The book has plenty of typos.My only really BIG disappointment is that, with all the great content and quotations from Kubrick, there isn’t a bibliography or works cited section. I even tried googling an awesome Kubrick quote and could not find it. NO SOURCES? RIDICULOUS!

For a film book that calls itself a "visual analysis" this volume has the worst image reproductions of any film book I've ever seen. Most of them are black and white, and so poorly reproduced they make every film look like "Battleship Potemkin". There are only eight pages of color images, but the color is washed out and looks sun faded. Only "2001", "Barry Lyndon", and "Eyes Wide Shut" are represented in the "color" section. Seriously, it looks as if they ran the videos and took photos of the television screen. Also, you will find that several films are not covered in any depth whatsoever. This is a poor tribute to Kubrick.

Walker for Kubrick, Richard Round for Godard – both of my samples are British authors, but it is not a country specific syndrome. Typically, many of the major films are out – like with Kubrick Paths of Glory, Dr Strangelove, A Clockwork Orange, and the Space Odyssey – but not necessarily all, and equally typically, the critic includes the new works in his analysis at some stage of revision and reprint.Also typically, these analyses are to some degree by individual film, but their scope is often analytical, wider: a visual analysis with Kubrick, by story lines and narrative treatment by Godard. The lack of this analytical dimension, as I have often said, limits many studies, and most biographies, which become extensively enumerative but weak on substance and analysis. This is an interesting book, with a huge number of photographs detailing most of Kubrick's films. (The only ones not examined in depth are 'Fear and Desire,' 'Killer's Kiss,' 'The Killing,' 'Spartacus,' and 'Lolita.') The book is organized chronologically, with a small section in the middle of the book about Kubrick's use of color and an epilogue detailing Walker's personal encounters with Kubrick at the end. It is fun to read about Walker's stories about Kubrick, which shed some all-too-needed light on the personal life and motivations of the reclusive filmmaker.On the whole, Walker's analyses of Kubrick's films are good, not great: I think he is really off-base in praising Tom Cruise's acting in 'Eyes Wide Shut' and in denigrating Kubrick's use of the occult in 'The Shining.' However, his analyses of 'Barry Lyndon' and 'Full Metal Jacket' were astute, and he successfully links certain themes and motifs throughout all of Kubrick's films.Finally, although normally I don't like a huge amount of pictures in a book because of how they always jack up the price, here the pictures are well-chosen and either help jog your memory about the films or help you understand them if you haven't seen them. I will say that some of the pictures were much larger than they needed to be - I didn't need a full two-page spread of the atomic bomb exploding in 'Dr. Strangelove' - but that's a minor criticism.All in all, a generally fun book.
